Dear Ke Xin,
We're glad to receive your suggestion.
Yes, as PA crew, we are indeed in charge of both lightings and the sounds.
I believe that your request the other time has been rejected as it was too last minute. We can only provide PA support for events which have been officially requested. This can be done by the teacher-in-charge of the particular event through KM. Also, the request has to be made 3-5 days in advance such that we have adequate time to prepare our crew and the equipment.
As the lightings in LT5 are pretty new to us since they only arrived in March this year, we admit that we might not know everything about the lightings. The technician who was supposed to train us has not yet contacted us. As for letting non-PA members to learn about the lightings and use them, i will need to seek opinions from my CCA as there will be too many implications when this really happens. As the lightings are pretty expensive, we cannot just give anyone access to usage of the lights. I do hope you will understand our issues of concern. However, we will consider your suggestion and decide on what is best for us and the school.
We did notice that the top curtains in LT5 will cast shadows on the wall if lights are shone on them. This may not be part of our job scope, but we will be glad to convey this message to the OM on behalf of the school and see if he can do anything about it. Thank You for being so understanding. We really appreciate your suggestions.

hahaha i'm kind of being threatened to write this post.
for fear of loss of my life.. im writing about pa outing on sat, ehh 120806!
im updating so that you guys can look back at the post in the future :D
rarrh beautiful day.
ahahaha! hmm the outing began with me walking into marche, (er, late. =x) hahaa and sitting down with a bunch of seniors who were mugging. scary =x haha after abit of stoning here and there, everyone began to order their own food. most of us had rosti, rarrh potatoes made us fat =x, some had oysters, some beeeef. haha. as usual, seniors began to crap and become crazy cos of their stress due to upcoming prelims and Alevels. hahaha hmmm.. after we all ate, jialin came and she sat with me at the seniors' table and we crapped more. hahaha! yea.. what else? finally we paid our bills and then walked to area around fullerton to watch fireworks. haha rarrh according to ivan, he estimated that there were about 5000 people there. haha but i feel that there were more lar. we were packed like sardines and the human jam caused us not being able to move!! haha when the fireworks finally began, most of us got separated. all i could rmb was the spectacular ending of the fireworks where alotsa sparks sprang up and yehdayehda stuffs. haha quite nice la. (: after the fireworks, we tried to contact other people who got lost from us, or maybe its the other way round lar. hahaha. no reception and all that. blah blah. hahaha
in the end, we managed to contact alan who waved his hand to signal to us where he was. hahaha. then we met up with the rest except jestyn and mel who were nowhere to be seen. haha walked from the spot where we viewed the fireworks to raffles place mrt. stoned tgt there. the feeling of stoning tgt was great, though many were too tired to stone on. hahaha wanted to go for supper but dont know what happened. yeah. i hope this outing has really bonded us even more (: and.. just a little personal thought here lar.. this outing made me realise many things, and hopefully the same goes out to all who went, or even those who didnt manage to make it k.
hmm we'll try plan a next outing sooon. higher attendance pls!

hey! there's pa outing on this saturday, to Marche for dinner!
meet 430 at cityhall mrt station, and no, its not a STJ ): ahh haha but we'll try our best to extort a STJ out of our ancestors k. hahaha burn incense papers for them first so that they have money =x haha okay touch wood. haha hopefully the STJ will come right after their As. this will bring them good karma for Alevels results! hint hint! hahaha
please tell me if you're going or not by this Friday cos the seniors may want to reserve seats.

hello! haha new look of the blog! mostly thanks to dhika and shichun =x haha thanks alot!
i'm updating about National Day Celebrations!
hahaha the performance yesterday was a success! yay our 3rd major outdoor event was a success! hahaha
The ICs were me and Ivan. haha dhika jialin elaine jen yibo chak duying cass (i hope i didnt miss out anyone) did this event too. haha you guys rock! thanks for putting in so much efforts and time into this event. haha the rehearsals ended so late that we could not even see our own equipment esp at the grandstand where there is no lights at night! haha
We met at 615 to set up the outdoor system. Mr Mazalan requested for a liberty to improve the sound quality of the whole performance. ahh hahaha yay ok lar we never fail to attempt to improve ourselves. there wasn't any major flop! haha except that the people sitting at the sides of the grandstand claimed that they could not hear much =x ahh then we tried to shift the positions of the speakers alr. but i think they still could not hear. but we werent informed that the audience would be sitting on the grandstand, instead we thought they would be situated at the track =x argh. haha the performance started with a blast! the emcees did better than what they did during rehearsals.
the backdrop hung on the goalpost fell and almost injured/killed the emcees. but luckily it didnt happen. haha the backstage people was super shocked! haha we felt exposed cos the audience could see us. we were stunned for 5 seconds before we moved to attempt to pick the goalpost up. hahhaa movement of mike stands were good. amplifier peaking like crazy as described by ivan. it seemed that we used the wrong amp =x ahh will check it out. the power was cut straight after the performance ended! haha super lucky! but didnt get to play the mass dance songs. blah. can see many people were disappointed =x haha we overloaded the power. nx time shall tap power from toilets there k. hahaha. what else? oh yah it drizzled for a few moments. i could see dhika's excitement coming lar! he was like praying for a rain so that pa can show expertise! haha but i almost fainted lar! haha luckily the rain stopped after a while. haha very very lucky! :D:D
yay so the performance was a success. sorry if this entry sounds abit haywired or not in order =x haha i cant really remember the sequence of events alr =x
the council put in lots of efforts in this performance, and us too! haha so yay rapport built between council and us :D
many seniors, namely xiumin and jestyn (i cant remember the rest alr =x sry arh) commented that we were good and we did fine :D haha continue to jiayou k! we shall rock on!
there is a pa outing on saturday :D meet 430 at cityhall, going marche for dinner. your ic should have smsed you by now! if they haven't.. i dont know what happened =x hahaha! and next up, we have piano concert in LT1! do more events k! cheerio!
